Free CD's

I found a spool of 100 copies of my old CD. Before I recorded Lighthouse I had a 5 song ep that I would sell at shows for $5. I don't think it's very good, but maybe you're interested in hearing it. It has a couple old songs that I don't play anymore. It has the old version of Rosa, which I completely rewrote before recording it for Lighthouse. It has a live version of Hey Love, a duet with singer/songwriter Kate Klim. Anyway, I thought maybe a good way to get people to keep checking my blog was to give something away.

Here's the deal. post a comment on this blog entry saying that you want a cd. On August 27th, which is the day after I get home from the west coast, I'll pick 5 people to send a free cd to. I'll even pay the shipping. You'll have to check back on the 27th, if you're a winner you'll email me with your address and I'll send you a cd.

These are literally the last copies of this cd that will ever exist. So, if you're interested in collectibles, act now ;)

We'll keep doing this until they're all gone. Sweet.

P.S. - It appears that you can't post a comment without a gmail account. Super lame. You can email me, if you don't have an account, at chris@chrisobrienmusic.com and you'll still be in the running for the free CD. Thanks

Chris, I heard you - and met you - in Brattleboro awhile back. Hope to be at Iron Horse on the 7th (I love that venue...). A live version of "Hey Love"...ahhh...In short - yes - I would love a copy!

Hey Chris,
Well, I saw you at the 49th anniversary party at the end of June, AND we have tickets for the Club Passim gig next Wednesday. I am the other 1/2 of the couple who destroyed our own version of Our next 50 Years. I would definitely love a copy of your vintage CD (as I, too, am destroying through overuse my copy of Lighthouse).

Hey Chris, would love to get a copy of your cd. Have contacted many times before. I am always wanting you to come to Denver, but I guess the closest will be Telluride, eh? I will be leaving Denver for a month to go to Michigan. Didn't tell you I was blind - but I am training with my first dog guide ever. I will be back end of August, and would love to have your music to listen to. It always gets me through the lonely days. I will still wait for you to get to Denver one day!

Hey Chris,
As your greatest fan, and the person who has traveled the farthest to see you live - twice - I would love to have a copy of the CD. See you in August.

Hey Chris,

You have a lot of contenders for your vintage CD. Harder to get than an Amen on a Monday I guess. Saw you at the Blue Plate Special in Knoxville. Your songs really moved me so I signed up on your sign up e-mail list. I also spoke to you (against my shyer nature) and told you that I really liked your songs.

I am glad you are making this offer available. I just got to relive the moment of my listening and enjoying. Peace brother. Leslie

Hey Chris,

You have a lot of contenders for your vintage CD not surprisingly. Harder to get than an "amen" on a Monday I guess.
Saw you at the Blue Plate Special in Knoxville Tennessee. Signed up for you e-mail as I was too poor to purchase a CD. I also spoke to you to say that I really enjoyed the song that was autobiographical of your father I believe. Beautiful tune that I did not want to see drift from me.
I am glad I signed up and glad you made this offer. I get to re-live that day and the listening and enjoying.
Good luck and I will keep passing the word. Peace brother. Leslie

I would love a copy of your vintage CD. Lighthouse got me through some long nights in Sudan and I am gearing up to head to Malawi. I would love some new tracks to bring along with me!

Saw you in the park in Telluride. You were there for the Bluegrass Festival. I was not - I was just sitting there eating while I waited for my husband to finish up his contract job at the courthouse. It was a spontaneous "Maxwell House" moment....just sitting there, hearing this amazing music, while I watched people tap their feet, and enjoy their children dancing. I was munching a yummy sandwich. Now, I'm a huge fan. I bought your CD and have told lots of my friends about you!
As one of your commenters said, "Please come to Denver"

This is L.C.; I saw a couple of your shows in Philly. Most of the time, I was the only black kid in the crowd- not that I cared. I really enjoy your music, and would love a copy of the CD. I enjoy your profound lyrics (something missing now-a-days from artist). I love the conviction of your voice, wailing with the guitar. Great artist and performer: you opened me up to a whole new genre of music- Thanks: whether I get the CD or not.

Chris,

I caught the last three tunes at your Kendall Square show this week. It was really fun to watch you and Danny on that last song. I can't capture it in words, but there was some kind of magic going on. I hope you know that.

Hope to get to your show at Me and Thee this fall. In the meantime, Lighthouse (and maybe some vintage Chris O'Brien?) will be on the brain.

Well, since I'm the first August poster, I think that qualifies me for one 'a them thar discs.

Good to hear the Passim show went well--Cloie and I wanted to come see you, but there was last-minute stuff involving her sister's pregnancy and we couldn't come. (This is Matt, by the way, who met you at Kiva House back in April just before I left for Coachella--Roger Waters was fantastic, by the way!)

Anyway, your definition of "not very good" probably isn't that accurate; Lighthouse was playing here at our house virtually non-stop in the weeks following that show, so it can't be that bad. I'd love to do a "before/after" comparison...and me and collector's items are like THIS! Anyway, keep up the good music, and keep up the blog posts!

Since you come no where near the south anytime soon, a free cd of your wonderful music would be a temporary fix. When are you coming to Charleston, SC?

Hi, Chris! I missed you at the Tin Angel in Philly last night--my boyfriend and I couldn't find a parking spot (okay, I admit it, it's my fault we didn't take the train) and then we got soaked in the rain. :( Listened to you on WXPN tonight, though. I'd love a copy of your CD! Hope you're well.
